SRI VEERA ANJANEYAR, THAKKOLAM , In Thakkolam on the way to Sri Somanatheeswarar temple you can see this small but very old SRI VEERA ANJANEYAR temple. In front of the temple about 18 ft. Sri Anjaneyar statue is really majestic. In the shrine Small SRI VEERA ANJANEYAR is in standing and with Praying Hands.

Sri JALANATHE ESWARAR Temple, Thakkolam - In Thakkolam another very old and Padal petra sthalam Sri GIRIRA JA KANNIKAMBAL samedha Sri  JALANATHEESWARAR temple.  This temple was originally built by the Pallavas and later improvements and additions were made by the Cholas.  This Main Lord Shivalingam is not touched by anybody including the priests. He is known as Theenda Meniyar. It is believed that the Goddess Parvathi is still hugging the Shiva Lingam and hence nobody touches it. There is no abishegam performed to the Shiva Lingam. During Flood in the river water will flow through Small Nandhi go around Lord Siva. ( so the name  Sri  JALANATHEESWARAR).  The Shiva Lingam’s colour is white during the Dakshinayana period. THAKKOLAM SRI SOMANADHEESWARAR - One of the Padal petra Siva stalams and very OLD temples in Thakkolam. Here SRI SOMANADHEESWARAR is with SRI RATHINAVALLI AMBAL. Other Sri Vinayagar, Sri Murugan, Sri Dakshinamoorthy, Sri Durgai amman all can be seen in praharam. Here SRI SOMANADHEESWARAR  has releived Chandran's (MOON) blindness, and on request from Chandran, Lord Siva PUT him on his JADA MUDI. Very Old temple. So this temple is called as Chandra Sthalam Special feature in this temple is LORD BAIRAVAR. Earlier this temple has Very old small Lord Bairavar  STATUE in small shrine. Later they found almost 8 ft. SRI KABALA BAIRAVAR statue with KABALAM as HARAM. Holding PASAM and ANGUSAM in hands and NAGABARANAM in head. And also they found Lord Bairavar carved on Stone, belongs to earlier stages (some people say as Kaval Deivam of Thakkolam village).
