SRI APPAN VENKATESA PERUMAL TEMPLE, MUKKOODAL

The name itself shows SRI APPAN VENKATESA PERUMAL oldest of  major Perumal temples.  The temple period is between 2500 to 3000 years old. Still the beauty of OLD ARCHITECTURE of temple is Great. This temple is controlled by Govt of India -Archaeological Dept. Built in Vast area on the banks of Palar river where 2 more rivers are joining so  this area is called Mukkodal.

Here main deighty SRI APPAN VENKATESA PERUMAL is definitely different from other Perumal temple. Main Deighty is huge ( about 9  Ft height, Majestic, and Beautiful. Perumal with Chanku and Chakram, and one Lotus in right hand (denotes He is part of BRAHMA) with JADA MUDI and THIRD EYE in head ( Denotes He is also SIVA). Jadamudi and Third Eye can be seen only on THAILA KAPPU. In this temple in Main Karuvarai you can see SRI APPAN VENKATESA PERUMAL along with Boo Devi and Sri Devi at His feet, Markendeya Maharishi at one side, other side SANGU and CHAKKRAM installed by Thondaman on the EARTH. Of all SRI APPAN VENKATESA PERUMAL is facing NORTH (Very Rare). Because here Perumal denotes he is part Brahma and Sivan, this temple is NOT PART OF DIVYA DESAM.

Above Perumal Vimanam is SAYANA VIMANA ( Vimanam is breadth wise longer when Perumal in SAYANA position like Srirangam etc.) but Main Deigthy is in Standing position like Tirupathi. It shows many years back Perumal must be in Sayana Position only later changed to Standing Position
Seperate Karuvarai for Sri Alamelu Manga Thayar, Garudan and Anjaneyar. Here for Anjaneyar - No Vada malai instead devotees put Murukku Malai.
