Arulmigu VAITHEESWARAR TEMPLE, Poonamallee
Very Old Shivan Temple in heart of Poonamallee. Main deity is Sri Vaitheeswarar ( LORD VAIDYANATHAR) - LORD FOR HEALING, facing East and Ambal Sri THAIYAL NAYAGI  faces South. By praying here diseases can get cured. This temple is for CHEVVAI graham (Dedicated to ANGARAHAN - MARS. Here Sri ANGARAHAN worshiped Lord Shiva. This temple is CHEVVAI DOSHA Parihara sthalam. Outside  Sanctum one can see Lord Angarahan foot prints. On Tuesdays this temple is fully crowded for CHEVVAI Dosha poojas. Sthala Viruksham is PALM Tree.
Here Lord Angaraha affected with Leprosy got cured here by praying Sri Vaidyanatha Swamy. 
Special feature here is in the month of Mid February to Mid March ( Tamil Month MASI between 21st to 25th) SUN LIGHT falls on Lord SHIVA directly morning 6 to 6.15 AM. This day is celebrated as Surya Pooja. 
All the pillars and entrance walls are beautifully engraved all Gods, Siva Puranam  and Idhihasa stories. One can see NANDHI facing Lord Shiva is called as VISHNU NANDHI. Sri Adhi Sankarar has installed 3 SHREE CHAKRAMS. In the Inner Praharam we cansee Lord Dakshinamoorthy, Brahmma, Durgai, Subramanyar, and others. 
This temple is also called as UTTARA VAITHEESWARAN Temple.Poonamallee is about 12 Kms from Koyambedu, within Poonamallee town.
Temple Timings : 6.30 AM to 12 Noon and 4.30 PM to 8.30 PM.
