 TEMPLE TOUR IN MAHARASHTRA  -  Part 1

We landed at Pune from Chennai on 3rd May 2023. 

                Then we started our tour by car started by 05.30 AM on 04.05.2023.

                The first place we visited in the tour programme was Ketkawale Prati Tirupathi Balaji Temple. ( also known as Narayanpur Balaji Temple). The temple is at a distance of about 50 kms from Pune. Almost  one and half hours drive  We reached the temple around 07.20 AM.

PRATI BALAJI TEMPLE

                The Prati Balaji Temple in Ketkawale Pune is dedicated to Shri PERUMAL  and It is a spectacular replica of the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh. In around Pune, People unable to visit the Tirupati Balaji temple, will be visiting this temple for Lord Venkateswara’s blessings.  Inside the temple we can see separate sannithis of Shri Garuda, Shri Chakrathazhwar, Shri Mahalakshmi, Shri Godhadevi, (Shri Andal) and Shri Radhakrishnara inside the premises.  Outside opposite the main entrance , sannathi for  Sri Anjaneyar.

                All the aspects of the temple are carefully built, taking into consideration the original structure in Tirupati. The striking likenesses to the Tirumala temple is remarkable and even the idol, wood work and Sanctum Sanctorum are carefully designed keeping in mind the original temple. This beautiful temple is surrounded by lush greenery especially during monsoon season and maintained very well. Vast car parking very big outer praharam.

                Timings : Opens at 5.30 AM (no Break) till 8.30 PM 

 





                We departed Narayanpur for Satara around 08.30 AM. Driving through Mumbai-Bangalore highway.  We reached Satara at 10.00 AM. 


On the way to SATARA, we are glad to see a upcoming Sri SAI BABA temple, with hugh Baba statue in marble ( 50 Ft height Statue) 

Uttar Chidambaram Natraja Temple Satara Maharashtra

                First we  went to have the Dharshan of Shri Nataraja at Uttar Chidambaram Nataraj Temple which is being managed by Kanchi Shankara Mutt. Also to see the abishekam of MARAGATHA LINGAM daily at 10.30 AM.  Uttar Chidambaram Natraja Temple Satara - (Satara Natraj Mandir  also known as Uttara Chidambaram Temple) Built on the holy confluence of rivers Krishna & Venna.  , The Natraj here is like Chidambaram, manifestation of Lord Shiva performing the Tandava dance. The foundation for the temple was laid on May 1981. Samanna, a resident of Satara gifted the land for building the temple. The funding was given by the state governments of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu while the timber needed for the entire construction of the temple was given by the government of Kerala. We can see the all the 4 entrances are dedicated concerned governments. It is a replica of Sri Natraj Temple at Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu, in smaller size and is a desire of Sri MahaPeriyava.





                In addition to the main sannithanam of Lord Natrajar, other shrines located in the temple complex are Ganapathi, Hanuman, Radha-Krishna, Navgraham,  Adi Shankaracharya  and outside the temple there is  Ayyappan Temple. The temple is under the management of KanchiShankara Mutt. It attracts lakhs of devotees and pilgrims to pay worship to Lord Sri Natraj. A Veda Paatasala is also being run by Sri KanchiKamakotiPeetam near the temple.

                Then we proceeded to Dakshin Kasi , where River Krishna and River  Venna join amongst the foot hills of Sahyadri. Dakshin Kasi Shetra is at a distance of about 5 kms from Uttar Chidambaram Nataraja Temple. Dakshin Kashi Shiv Temple is a famous Hindu temple located in the city of Satara Sangam Mahuli, in SATARA . It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and one of the oldest temple and controlled by Archeological  Survey of India. The temple is situated on a hill near the confluence of the Krishna and Venna rivers and offers stunning  views of the surrounding  landscape. The Dakshin Kashi Shiv Temple is believed to have been built during the reign of the Maratha king, Shivaji Maharaj, in the 17th century. The temple features a beautiful idol of Lord Shiva in the form of a Lingam, which is adorned with precious stones and jewels.The temple is also known for its beautiful architecture and intricate carvings, which are a testament to the rich cultural and artistic heritage of the Maratha dynasty.  A sannathi where Anjaneyar with Human face standing over Sani Bagwan.










                The Dakshin Kashi Shiv Temple is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus and is visited by thousands of devotees every year, particularly during the festival of Mahashivratri. The temple is also a popular tourist destination and attracts visitors from all over India and the world. Opposite to this temple across the river you can see Dakshin Rameshwar temple.

PUTLUR - SRI ANGALA PARAMESWARI AMMAN Putlur a small village 7 KMs from Thiruvallur on the Thiruvallur - Avadi - Chennai highway. A beautiful temple but small one crowded always. Amman is of natural ANT PUTHU (Ant hill). Amman has all features powerful eyes hands legs and most interestingly with PREGNANT BELLY. Temple is always crowded. Prsadams - Lemons, Kungumam, flowers and Bangles are given to women but NOT in HAND. Those who want child and get marry will come here and Pray. Friday and Tuesday are fully crowded. Parking is Problem during that days. Other days are Ok for car parking.
